During the COVID 19 pandemic, we will only be conducting consultations via Zoom, Skype or telephone.

How We Work

Step One: Get in touch!

Call or email either Annie Mae or Katie to set up a time for you to speak with us. We cannot provide an assessment of your potential to immigrate without first conducting a full consultation. We do not give out legal advice before a consultation has been scheduled.  Our number is 902 329-4950, or you can email annie@graceallenlaw.ca or katie@graceallenlaw.ca.

Step Two: Initial consultation

Come into our offices and have a chat! Alternatively, arrange for a Skype, Zoom or telephone call. Initial consultations usually take about an hour. There is a flat fee of $350 plus HST for all consultations, even if we end up chatting for a bit longer than an hour. During this consultation, we will be able to assess whether and how we can help you achieve your immigration goals. If we can help, we will usually be able to provide a quote for a flat fee on legal services during this consultation.

Step Three: Sign a retainer and agree upon a payment plan!

Once we have a signed agreement we will begin working on your application. For most substantive immigration applications, the bulk of the work will happen via email correspondence. Once the application is finished and ready to submit, you’ll make another appointment to come into our offices in person to review the applications forms, sign them, and we submit the application on your behalf. For more complicated matters like refugee claims and appeals, the bulk of the work will happen during in-person meetings.

Step Four: Follow-Up

We will make a note of the standard processing times for the type of application you have submitted, and schedule reminders to follow-up with Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada if we pass those standard processing times without hearing back on your application. We cannot guarantee that your application will be processed by any particular date, but we can certainly commit to following up with IRCC on your behalf!
